Formulas

The Long-Distance Relationship Trust Builder uses the following formula:

• Trust Score = \\( (C \times V \times G) \times 100 \\)
• Where:
  • \\( C = \min\left(\frac{\text{Weekly Communication Hours}}{20}, 1\right) \\) (max 20 hours)
  • \\( V = \min\left(\frac{\text{Annual Visits}}{12}, 1\right) \\) (max 12 visits)
  • \\( G = \frac{\text{Shared Goals Met (%)}}{100} \\)

How to Use

1. Enter the weekly communication hours in the “Weekly Communication Hours” field.
2. Enter the number of annual visits in the “Annual Visits” field.
3. Enter the percentage of shared goals met in the “Shared Goals Met (%)” field.
4. Optionally, use the activity buttons to focus on trust-building activities (e.g., Video Calls).
5. Click “Build Trust Score” to see your results.
6. Scroll to the “Results” section for detailed calculations.
7. Use the share buttons to share your trust score or embed the calculator.

Examples

1. Example 1: Communication = 10, Visits = 2, Shared Goals = 75%
   Communication Factor = \\( \min\left(\frac{10}{20}, 1\right) = 0.5 \\)
   Visit Factor = \\( \min\left(\frac{2}{12}, 1\right) = 0.167 \\)
   Goal Alignment = \\( \frac{75}{100} = 0.75 \\)
   Trust Score = \\( (0.5 \times 0.167 \times 0.75) \times 100 = 6.26\% \\)
2. Example 2: Communication = 15, Visits = 4, Shared Goals = 90%
   Communication Factor = \\( \min\left(\frac{15}{20}, 1\right) = 0.75 \\)
   Visit Factor = \\( \min\left(\frac{4}{12}, 1\right) = 0.333 \\)
   Goal Alignment = \\( \frac{90}{100} = 0.9 \\)
   Trust Score = \\( (0.75 \times 0.333 \times 0.9) \times 100 = 22.48\% \\)
3. Example 3: Communication = 5, Visits = 1, Shared Goals = 50%
   Communication Factor = \\( \min\left(\frac{5}{20}, 1\right) = 0.25 \\)
   Visit Factor = \\( \min\left(\frac{1}{12}, 1\right) = 0.083 \\)
   Goal Alignment = \\( \frac{50}{100} = 0.5 \\)
   Trust Score = \\( (0.25 \times 0.083 \times 0.5) \times 100 = 1.04\% \\)
