The Friendship Maintenance Effort Calculator uses the following formula:

Effort Score = \( \left(C \times E \times S\right) \times 100 \)
Where:
- \( C = \min\left(\frac{\text{Weekly Contact Hours}}{10}, 1\right) \) (max 10 hours)
- \( E = \min\left(\frac{\text{Annual Shared Events}}{12}, 1\right) \) (max 12 events)
- \( S = \frac{\text{Support Provided (%)}}{100} \)

Enter the weekly contact hours in the “Weekly Contact Hours” field.
Enter the number of annual shared events in the “Annual Shared Events” field.
Enter the percentage of support provided in the “Support Provided (%)” field.

Example 1: Contact = 5, Events = 6, Support = 80%
Effort Score = \( \left(\min\left(\frac{5}{10}, 1\right) \times \min\left(\frac{6}{12}, 1\right) \times \frac{80}{100}\right) \times 100 = (0.5 \times 0.5 \times 0.8) \times 100 = 20.0\% \)
Example 2: Contact = 8, Events = 10, Support = 90%
Effort Score = \( \left(\min\left(\frac{8}{10}, 1\right) \times \min\left(\frac{10}{12}, 1\right) \times \frac{90}{100}\right) \times 100 = (0.8 \times 0.833 \times 0.9) \times 100 = 60.0\% \)
Example 3: Contact = 2, Events = 3, Support = 50%
Effort Score = \( \left(\min\left(\frac{2}{10}, 1\right) \times \min\left(\frac{3}{12}, 1\right) \times \frac{50}{100}\right) \times 100 = (0.2 \times 0.25 \times 0.5) \times 100 = 2.5\% \)
