How to Use:

  1. Select the difficulty of the material and your prior knowledge level.
  2. Enter the length of your study sessions and total number of sessions.
  3. Specify days since last review and your planned review frequency.
  4. Choose your engagement level during study.
  5. Click “Estimate Retention” to see projected retention rates.

Formulas Used:

Base forgetting rate \( k \): Adjusted by difficulty (easy: 0.1, medium: 0.2, hard: 0.3), prior knowledge (low: +0.1, high: -0.1), engagement (low: +0.15, high: -0.15).

Memory strength \( S = \) sessions × sessionHours × engagementFactor.

Retention at time t (days): \( R(t) = 100 \times e^{-k \times t / S} \).

With reviews: Decay reduced by reviewFreq factor every reviewFreq days.

Based on Ebbinghaus curve with personalization adjustments.
