Pet Adoption Compatibility Calculator

Pet Adoption Compatibility Calculator assesses suitability, lifestyle fit, and resources for adopting a pet based on activity, time, and budget.

Formulas Used in Pet Adoption Compatibility Calculator

The calculator uses the following formulas to assess adoption compatibility:

Compatibility Score:

\\[ C_s = \min\left(100 \cdot \frac{A_l \cdot T \cdot B}{M_p \cdot C_{\text{max}}}, 100\right) \\]

Lifestyle Fit:

\\[ L_f = \min\left(100 \cdot \frac{A_l \cdot T}{M_p \cdot T_{\text{max}}}, 100\right) \\]

Resource Readiness:

\\[ R_r = \min\left(100 \cdot \frac{B}{M_p \cdot B_{\text{max}}}, 100\right) \\]

Where:

  • \\( C_s \\): Compatibility score (%)
  • \\( A_l \\): Activity level multiplier (Low: 0.7, Moderate: 1.0, High: 1.3)
  • \\( T \\): Available time (hours/week)
  • \\( B \\): Budget (USD/month)
  • \\( M_p \\): Pet type multiplier (Dog: 1.5, Cat: 1.0, Small Pet: 0.7)
  • \\( C_{\text{max}} \\): Maximum reference compatibility factor (1000)
  • \\( L_f \\): Lifestyle fit (%)
  • \\( T_{\text{max}} \\): Maximum reference time (40 hours/week)
  • \\( R_r \\): Resource readiness (%)
  • \\( B_{\text{max}} \\): Maximum reference budget (200 USD/month)

Example Calculations

Example 1: Low Activity, Limited Time and Budget, Small Pet

Input: Activity Level = Low, Available Time = 5 hrs/week, Budget = 30 USD/month, Pet Type = Small Pet

\\[ C_s = \min\left(100 \cdot \frac{A_l \cdot T \cdot B}{M_p \cdot C_{\text{max}}}, 100\right) = \min\left(100 \cdot \frac{0.7 \cdot 5 \cdot 30}{0.7 \cdot 1000}, 100\right) = 15 \ \% \\] \\[ L_f = \min\left(100 \cdot \frac{A_l \cdot T}{M_p \cdot T_{\text{max}}}, 100\right) = \min\left(100 \cdot \frac{0.7 \cdot 5}{0.7 \cdot 40}, 100\right) = 12.5 \ \% \\] \\[ R_r = \min\left(100 \cdot \frac{B}{M_p \cdot B_{\text{max}}}, 100\right) = \min\left(100 \cdot \frac{30}{0.7 \cdot 200}, 100\right) = 21.43 \ \% \\]

Result: Compatibility Score: 15%, Lifestyle Fit: 12.5%, Resource Readiness: 21.43%

Example 2: Moderate Activity, Average Time and Budget, Cat

Input: Activity Level = Moderate, Available Time = 10 hrs/week, Budget = 100 USD/month, Pet Type = Cat

\\[ C_s = \min\left(100 \cdot \frac{A_l \cdot T \cdot B}{M_p \cdot C_{\text{max}}}, 100\right) = \min\left(100 \cdot \frac{1.0 \cdot 10 \cdot 100}{1.0 \cdot 1000}, 100\right) = 100 \ \% \\] \\[ L_f = \min\left(100 \cdot \frac{A_l \cdot T}{M_p \cdot T_{\text{max}}}, 100\right) = \min\left(100 \cdot \frac{1.0 \cdot 10}{1.0 \cdot 40}, 100\right) = 25 \ \% \\] \\[ R_r = \min\left(100 \cdot \frac{B}{M_p \cdot B_{\text{max}}}, 100\right) = \min\left(100 \cdot \frac{100}{1.0 \cdot 200}, 100\right) = 50 \ \% \\]

Result: Compatibility Score: 100%, Lifestyle Fit: 25%, Resource Readiness: 50%

Example 3: High Activity, Ample Time and Budget, Dog

Input: Activity Level = High, Available Time = 20 hrs/week, Budget = 200 USD/month, Pet Type = Dog

\\[ C_s = \min\left(100 \cdot \frac{A_l \cdot T \cdot B}{M_p \cdot C_{\text{max}}}, 100\right) = \min\left(100 \cdot \frac{1.3 \cdot 20 \cdot 200}{1.5 \cdot 1000}, 100\right) = 100 \ \% \\] \\[ L_f = \min\left(100 \cdot \frac{A_l \cdot T}{M_p \cdot T_{\text{max}}}, 100\right) = \min\left(100 \cdot \frac{1.3 \cdot 20}{1.5 \cdot 40}, 100\right) = 43.33 \ \% \\] \\[ R_r = \min\left(100 \cdot \frac{B}{M_p \cdot B_{\text{max}}}, 100\right) = \min\left(100 \cdot \frac{200}{1.5 \cdot 200}, 100\right) = 66.67 \ \% \\]

Result: Compatibility Score: 100%, Lifestyle Fit: 43.33%, Resource Readiness: 66.67%
