About the Cumulative GPA Tracker

The Cumulative GPA Tracker calculates and tracks your cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) based on course grades and credit hours. This tool is designed for students, academic advisors, and educators.

Cumulative GPA: The weighted average of grade points earned across all courses, divided by total credit hours.

Use this tracker to monitor your academic progress and plan your studies.

  • Features:
    • Calculates cumulative GPA using course grades (letter or numerical) and credit hours.
    • Dynamic table to add, remove, and edit courses.
    • Supports letter grades (A, B+, etc.) and numerical grades (0–100, converted to 4.0 scale).
    • Keypad includes digits (0–9) and decimal point (.).
    • Displays step-by-step calculations in LaTeX format.
    • Clear and backspace functionality, with a "Copy" button for results.
    • Uses MathJax for professional rendering of mathematical expressions.
  • Practical Applications: Useful for academic planning, GPA tracking, and scholarship eligibility.
  • How to Use:
    • Enter the grade for each course (e.g., A, B+, or 90).
    • Enter the credit hours for each course (e.g., 3).
    • Click "Add Course" to include additional courses.
    • Click "Remove" to delete a course (available when multiple courses exist).
    • Use the keypad to input digits and decimal points for numerical grades or credits.
    • Click "Calculate" to compute the cumulative GPA.
    • Use "Clear" to reset or "⌫" to delete the last character.
    • Use "Copy" to copy the results and steps.
    • Share or embed the tracker using the action buttons.
  • Helpful Tips:
    • Letter grades must be valid (A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D+, D, D-, F).
    • Numerical grades (0–100) are converted to a 4.0 scale (e.g., 90–100 = 4.0, 85–89 = 3.7).
    • Credit hours must be positive numbers (decimals allowed, e.g., 3.5).
    • At least one course is required to calculate GPA.
    • The "Remove" button is hidden for the first course when only one course exists.
  • Examples:
    • Example 1: Three Courses:
      • Course 1: Grade = A (4.0), Credits = 3
      • Course 2: Grade = B+ (3.3), Credits = 4
      • Course 3: Grade = 85 (3.7), Credits = 3
      • Steps:
        • Total Grade Points: \( (4.0 \times 3) + (3.3 \times 4) + (3.7 \times 3) = 12 + 13.2 + 11.1 = 36.3 \)
        • Total Credits: \( 3 + 4 + 3 = 10 \)
        • GPA: \( \frac{36.3}{10} = 3.63 \)
      • Result: Cumulative GPA = 3.63, Total Credits = 10
    • Example 2: Single Course:
      • Course 1: Grade = 92 (4.0), Credits = 3
      • Steps: Similar calculations.
      • Result: Cumulative GPA = 4.00, Total Credits = 3
